Finca St Teresita
Merida, Venezuela

Proyecto Cafés de Fores, Led by Ing. Agr. Luciano Noguera

Located in the high Andean region of La Montaña, Capurí (Mérida, Venezuela), Finca Santa Teresita is the heart of an ambitious specialty-coffee initiative known as Proyecto Cafés de Fores (“Capurí Kapi” since end 2025), led by agronomist and producer Luciano Noguera. The estate sits between 1.750 and 1.850 meters above sea level, offering an exceptional high-mountain terroir ideal for slow cherry maturation and vibrant cup profiles.

From Traditional Farming to a Specialty-Coffee Vision

Santa Teresita covers 19 hectares, originally dedicated to vegetable and livestock production until 2017. In 2019 the farm began its transition toward coffee, planting 18,000 coffee trees (16,000 Castillo and 2,000 Yellow Catuaí).

The first full specialty harvest in 2023-2024 was a turning point: the coffees earned three national first-place awards at the “Tostado de Altura” competition during Venezuela’s First International Coffee Congress.
This early success laid the foundation for the project, a long-term vision to transform Santa Teresita into one of the most significant specialty coffee developments in Venezuela. The project plans to expand to 100,000 coffee trees, including both traditional and exotic varieties such as Castillo, Catuai Amarillo, Typica, Geisha, Bourbon Rosado, Parainema, Monte Claro, Papayo, Araguaney, INIA01, and a promising “Caturra rojo rosado.” With this expansion, the farm aims to process up to 30,000 to 50,000 kg of high-scoring specialty coffee annually by 2027.

A Social & Agronomic Development Project

Beyond production, Cafés de Fores /Capurí Kapi has a strong social component. Luciano Noguera has integrated families from the local community into the project, many of whom previously worked in vegetable cultivation on the same land. Since 2023, at least five families have joined the initiative, receiving agronomic training, technical guidance, and shared participation in the results. More than twenty direct jobs have been created, with additional families joining in 2025, reinforcing the project’s goal of improving livelihoods while building a sustainable, high-quality specialty coffee ecosystem.

Finca Santa Teresita vision represent a new chapter in Venezuelan specialty coffee: a commitment to quality, scientific agronomy, community development, and long-term excellence, all rooted in the high mountains of Mérida.
